Criminal Justice Reform Policy

The moral campus of our nation is greatly challenged with our criminal justice system. We need common sense reform that respects the rule of law, while at the same time respecting the rule of common human decency. With 180,000+ people incarcerated in US federal prisons, our prison population is growing at an astonishing rate while taking up a larger share of resources that could be used for job development, Veterans care, etc. Investing in treatment, education, housing, and economic development, actually reduces crime and keeps our communities safe is a smarter way to fight crime. I support the First Step Act that would change the way we operate our Criminal Justice system. It’s not a perfect solution, but if I have your support in fighting for your family, we will make a difference together! Please click on the link below to learn more about the First Step Act.
